Track Name: Ergodos Musicians - The way we met – Benedict Schlepper-Connolly
'All I can remember is the stars in the sky. It was freezing so hard. And we had high- heeled shoes which weren’t very suitable for walking home and some of these roads and potholes and everything in them. But these are some of the things you like to remember. This man in particular, he’s dead and gone long ago, God rest his soul, he brought me up the centre of the floor and he taught me how to dance. And I’ve... I’ve been dancing ever since. Oh, the hair had to be done and the face had to be done and the ironing had to be done and everything had to be spick and span. And by the time you got to the dance on a bicycle, it didn’t make any difference what it was like. It could be any
way. You would have had your hair washed and you’d be ready for the road then at that. When you’d have that fixed up and that. Maybe a bit of lipstick and that. But then when you’re young like that you don’t need that much adornment....'
